Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shared a throwback picture from 2002 along with his former teammates, and it got former India captain Sourav Ganguly feeling nostalgic. In the throwback picture, we can see VVS Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag among others.
Yuvi took to Twitter to share the picture alongside a caption that read, “#blastfromthepast! Jawaani ke din.” He further asked, “what tour is this?”
Sourav Ganguly who is currently the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), was quick to comment on the picture. He said, “oh youngeee .. looks like england 2002 .. what a tour it was.”
Responding to Ganguly’s comment, Yuvi said, “yes dadi amazing memories.”
In 2002 the Indian team had an outstanding outing in England. They won the triangular NatWest series first, beating England in an epic encounter at the Lord’s final, where the heroics of Yuvraj and Kaif saw them chase down a daunting target of 326.
The Ganguly-led team then drew the four-match Test series 1-1, even inflicting an innings defeat on the home side in the third Test in Leeds after making England follow on.
Yuvraj, who played a crucial role in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup triumphant campaigns, had responded to his fans with a message saying he was “overwhelmed and full of gratitude.” He did so after finding himself trending on Twitter where his fans poured in love, with #MissYouYuvi trending on Twitter.
Yuvraj Singh took retirement from international cricket last year on June 10.
