The Chennai Super Kings suffered a major blow ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Two of their key players and reportedly ten staff members tested positive for COVID-19 infection. Deepak Chahar is one of the players whose results came back positive, other being Ruturaj Gaikwad. As of now, Deepak Chahar now returns to CSK camp after recovering from COVID-19.

In his conversation with ESPNcrickinfo, the CEO of CSK, KS Vishwanathan said, “Except for the Indian batsman, who is in quarantine, all others have come out. The Indian fast bowler has tested negative twice and is back.”

The official Twitter handle of the three-time IPL winning team shared a picture of Deepak Chahar back as he returns to CSK camp for practise session ahead of the IPL 2020.

They put out a cheeky caption to welcome the 28-year old, “Deeback Chahar”.

The other player of CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad is still in quarantine but is fine with no severe symptoms. His quarantine reportedly ends on September 12.

Before entering the camp, Ruturaj will be tested again, only if the results are negative he will be allowed to play.

The CSK franchisee is facing a lot of problems with two of their key players- Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulling out of the tournament.

The reason behind their exit is personal. While Raina has hinted at a possibility to return, there has been no word from Harbhajan about his return.

CSK will face defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening game on September 19, 2020.

This year’s IPL tournament will take place in the UAE, citing the rise in coronavirus cases in India.

The BCCI has issued strict guidelines for all IPL teams. They have to stay in the biosecure bubble to ensure there is no delay in the tournament.
