Sexual harassment in men is a silent topic even today, but gradually men are becoming vocal about such traumatic experiences in their lives. Actor Saanand Verma, who is known for the television series ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’ shared one such terrible experience in his life when he was sexually abused. And that one memory ruined his childhood.
In a conversation with Time Now, he said that he was sexually abused at the age of 13. He narrated that entire painful experience, saying āIt happened to me once, during a cricket match. When I was 13, I desperately wanted to be a cricketer. I went to a cricket training academy in Patna, Bihar. There, a big guy tried to exploit me. I was extremely scared and ran away. Since then, I have stayed away from cricket.ā Even though the marks stay with us, we have to move ahead with life. āIt is a pain that never goes away, but the thing is. You have to overcome it and move forwardā, Saanand added.
Saanand became a recognized face in the household due to the serial Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Later he portrayed side characters in some movies, like ‘Chhichhore’, ‘Hum Do Humare Do’, ‘India Lockdown’ and others. He also appeared in Nawajuddinās ‘Sacred Games’. His efforts led him to this point in his life. He said, āWhen a person has endured so much suffering, no other pain matters to them. Such a person becomes very resilient because the Almighty has tested them so much that they become very strong. The same thing happened to me. I have endured so much in my life that I have become very strong.ā
He also shed some light on the controversial topic Casting Couch which exists behind the glamorous world of B-Town. He had heard a lot about casting couch experiences from his colleagues, but fortunately it didnāt happen to him.Ā
