‘The Family Star’ To Make Its OTT Debut Next Month? Here’s What We Know

As per the latest reports, Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda starrer "The Family Star" will soon make its OTT debut.

“The Family Star,” directed by Parasuram and starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, hit theaters on April 5, 2024, amid high anticipation. However, the Telugu action-comedy received only “average” reviews from both critics and audiences. Despite coming from the successful Geetha Govindam team, Vijay Deverakonda and director Parasuram’s latest collaboration disappointed at the box office, failing to meet expectations.

Typically, films take around 8 weeks to debut on OTT platforms after their theatrical release. However, those that underperform at the box office often make their OTT debut much sooner. Recent social media discussions suggest that “Family Star” will also make its OTT debut soon, premiering digitally on May 3.

Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for the film. Given the trend of films transitioning quickly to digital platforms after poor box office performances, “Family Star” is expected to follow suit.
