Actress Ruchira Singh has been featured in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Mukkabaaz’, the Marathi film ‘Vajvuya Band Baja’ and the Hotstar web series Human. Currently, the actress is in buzz for her performance in the second season of the Netflix series, SHE. Ruchira essayed the role of a prostitute, Yasmin, who is a pretty interesting and important character in the show.
She Season 2 is conceptualised by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and directed by Arif Ali. The series has made it to Netflix’s Global Top 10 in 11 countries within two weeks of its release.
Talking about her character in She Season 2, the actress says, “Yasmin is a very outspoken person, and a pretty interesting and important character in the show. I loved playing the character as it had many shades and layers.”
Revealing the reason that made her say yes to the series, the actress said, “Actually, it was Imtiaz Ali and Arif Ali’s name associated with the project that made me say yes to the same. I knew that there must be something interesting that’s why he asked me to audition. And, I loved the shades and uniqueness of my character in the series.”
Sharing her enriching experience of working with filmmaker, Imtiaz Ali, the actress says, “Working with him was like a dream come true for me. I had an enriching experience while working with Imtiaz Ali Sir. To work with such an amazing person is an absolute honour for me. I got to learn a lot of new and useful things from him. The kind of brilliance that he has, and the way he worked on this series is really incredible, to say the least.”
Lastly, talking about the response she has been receiving for her performance, the actress says, “I am glad to be a part of SHE season 2. I have been receiving immense love from the audience. The audience’s response gives me a lot of positivity, and it keeps me motivated to work wholeheartedly. Now with the audience support it has reached to Top 10 global list of Netflix. So I am elated by its feedback.”
She is a thriller series created by Imtiaz Ali, starring Aaditi Pohankar, Vijay Varma and Vishwas Kini in lead roles. She Season 2 started streaming on Netflix in June 2022.
