Disney+ Hotstar announced three new series as a part of the Disney+ Day celebration. Three new launches include Lootere, YouTuber Bhuvan Bam’s Taaza Khabar, and Aar Ya Paar. Announcing the big news the streaming platform dropped a teaser of the three new series.
Taaza Khabar
Taaza Khabar is the debut series of Bhuvan Bam on OTT platforms. He has also made a debut as a producer, co-producing the series under his home production company, BB Ki Vines Production. The show will exclusively premiere on Disney+ Hotstar, however, the release date is still awaited.
The streaming platform and the YouTuber shared the teaser on their respective Instagram account. The caption of the 40 second long teaser read, “Ek vardaan ne badal di Vasya ki kahani. Watch Me in a never before seen avatar – #HotstarSpecials #TaazaKhabar coming soon.” Helmed by Himank Guar the series also features Shriya Pilgaonkar.
Excited Bhuvan Bam said, “I mark a new milestone in my career with Disney+ Hotstar with a story that is packed with action, emotion, and life’s comedy. My character Vasya’s story brings out the ironies of society in a manner that makes you wonder about the ways magic and miracles happen. Also, this new avatar is completely different from all the roles I have taken up.”
Lootere
Another launch by Hotstar is Lootere, which marks the directorial debut of Hansal Mehta’s son Jai Mehta. Lootere is touted as “a tale of greed, survival, terror, and chaos.” The series promises a gripping tale of bandits. It’s said to be based on a real story when a commercial Indian ship was hijacked off the Somalian coast.
Sharing the teaser the makers wrote, “Helmed by the master filmmaker @hansalmehta, comes a tale of greed, survival, terror and chaos – #HotstarSpecials #Lootere, coming soon. #LootereOnHotstar #DisneyPlusDay #FirstLook” Lootere features an ensemble cast including Rajat Kapoor, and the release date is yet to be unveiled.
Talking about Lootere, Hansal Mehta said, “This association with Disney+ Hotstar is a special one for two reasons: One, it is directed by my son Jai. Two, Disney+ Hotstar as a platform is known to bring to life some amazing and out-of-the-box stories. Lootere explores a story of survival and struggle of a crew of a merchant ship at a time when hope is blurring. We are excited to bring this thrilling story to the audience very soon.”
Aar Ya Paar
Next on the list is Aar Ya Paar, featuring Sumeet Vyas, Patralekhaa, Ashish Vidyarthi, Aditya Rawal, and Shilpa Shukla. The story tells a tribal man’s struggle against the modern world and its corrupt political and financial machinery. The action thriller is directed by Glen Barretto and Ankush Mohla.
Sharing the teaser, Disney+ Hotstar wrote, “Apne pe aajaye, toh na insaan rukta hai na jaanwar. Presenting the first look of #HotstarSpecials #AarYaPaar, coming soon.” Sidharth Sengupta who has written story and screenplay said, “Unique stories are finding their way to viewers, and I am excited for my first association with Disney+ Hotstar to bring to the forefront a distinct tale of Aar Ya Paar.”
