The second edition of the first pan India OTT award show, the OTTplay award, was held on Sunday, 29th October at Taj Lands End. It was a night to honour the best talent among the OTTs. Almost all film celebrities, from Anil Kapoor, Kajol to Alaya F, Sharib Hashmi everyone attended the event held in Mumbai.
Raveena Tondon’s black shimmery knee-length one piece made her look younger than her age. Kajol was looking bold in her sleek black square neck gown. Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhilash Thapaliyal were absolute men in black for last night, whereas Sharib Hashmi’s blue stripped printed blazer made him look bright. Sanya Malhotra and Mona Singh also marked their presence for the award night. Sanya’s blue off-shoulder gown and Alaya F in maroon gown put some shine on the purple carpet of the OTT awards.
With their pretty, iconic looks, the celebs got on the purple carpet and there was a moment everyone was waiting for. With immense talent, Rajkumar Rao stole the attention of everyone by receiving the OTT Performer of the Year 2023. He was awarded for his roles in Guns & Gulaabs and Monica, O My Darling. Rajkummar Rao has made a place on the Bollywood screen as well as OTT with his conviction for any character he plays. Aditi Rao Hydari received OTT Performer of the Year for Divided by Blood and Jubilee. Aliya’s Darlings won Best Film and Ayali won the Best Web Series award. Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai starring Manoj Bajpayee received Best Film on True Events.
Although many actors have created their aura with many years of experience in Bollywood, many of them made their debut on OTT after so long. Kajol is one of them. She made her debut on OTT through The Trial web series this year and she won Best Debut in Series female category award yesterday.
Mahesh Narayanan won Best Director film for Ariyippu. Best Director Series was won by Raj & DK for Farzi and Pavan Sadineni for Dayaa. Alaya F won Best Debut in Film female for Freddy whereas Babil Khan won Best Debut in Film Male for his role in Qala.
Anil Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Kartik Aaryan and many other celebrities received different awards for their excellent performances on OTT.
