Ishaan Khatter To Play THIS Role In Ronnie Screwvala & Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Next

Ishaan Khatter is all set to star in a movie titled ‘Pippa’ produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala. The film will be based on the 1971 India-Pakistan. Read below for further details.

Actor Ishaan Khatter is all set to star in Airlift director Raja Krishna Menon’s upcoming film titled Pippa. The action-packed film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. It will be a war film with a prestigious army tank being the core of the same.

In this valiant tank battle film, Ishaan Khatter will portray the role of war veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta of the 45th Cavalry tank squad. Brigadier along with his siblings fought on the eastern front during the India-Pakistan war of 1971. It was with this war in Garibpur that India invaded and entered enemy land for the first time, thus contributing to our neighbor Bangladesh’s liberation.

The film titled Pippa is penned down by Tanmay Mohan, Ravindra Randhawa, and Raja Krishna Menon. The plot of the action-packed film will be based on the book titled The Burning Chaffees, written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta himself.

Speaking of the title of the film, it highlights the magnificent Russian armoured war tank called PT-76, widely and popularly known as ‘Pippa’. The tank was referred by this unique name because of its ability to smoothly float on waters like an empty ghee dabba.

In this amphibious war tank, Brigadier Balram along with his squadron fought tirelessly for 48-long hours that eventually lead the foundation for and influenced the result of the impending war in India’s favour.

The film also portrays the coming-of-age of a young Mehta as well as of our nation, as both stepped up to prove themselves in a war for the liberation of another country. The battle paved the path for India’s triumph as Captain Mehta rose to the occasion and led his troops to victory.

On the work front, Ishaan Khatter will be next seen in Khaali Peeli alongside Ananya Panday. The film’s date got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
