It looks like Zendaya has started her prep for the upcoming glamorous Gala. Along with stylist Law Roach, the Euphoria star is getting ready for the grandest night in fashion—the 2024 Met Gala in New York on May 6. In an exclusive interview with E! News at the Challengers premiere in Los Angeles she said she had some ideas. “It felt like the right time to try to go back to the Met,” she revealed. Since her Cinderella moment five years ago, Zendaya has not attended the Met Gala; she clarified that this year’s ball will be “very special.” Co-hosting the esteemed event is “obviously an honor,” she continued.
“I believe the boys are going to go, and I know that Jonathan, who is our incredible costume designer, is also hosting, so it felt like the right time”, she said about her Challengers co-stars. Jonathan, the creative director of Loewe, will be an honorary chair alongside TikTok CEO Shou Chew. The charity gala is being co-chaired by Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lopez.
The Spider-Man actress always looks her best on the red carpet when it comes to what makes her feel confident. “Law and I, obviously we’ve been working together for many years and we’ve been doing themed dressing since Greatest Showman. It’s so nice to be able to experiment with fashion,” she stated.
It’s remarkable that her acceptance of more extravagant fashion statements was motivated by her “being on the shier side,” as she phrased it. She quipped, “I know, I’m a shy person, so why do I do this for a living? Every day, I ask myself that.” Zendaya said, “It just adds this layer of protection and confidence. I get to kind of create these characters, almost like in films.”
