Recently Scooter Braun became the CEO of HYBE America after he sold his company Ithaca Holdings to HYBE in 2019.

Scooter Braun And Taylor Swift Feud

Scooter Braun grabbed the headlines in 2019 during his controversial fight with singer Taylor Swift. Apparently, Scooter acquired Taylor’s former music label Big Machine Records in 2019 for $330 million through his holdings company Ithaca Holdings. Therefore, the ownership of all masters of all which were under BIG MACHINE fell under the ownership of Ithaca Holdings which meant that using their music would need prior permission and the payment of a fee to Scooter Braun’s company.

Reacting to the same Taylor shared her reaction on Tumblr calling Scooter Braun a “bully” and described him as “definition of a toxic male privilege in the industry”. In 2019, Taylor then announced that she would be re-recording and releasing all six of her previous albums. Many artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Bryan Adams and others praised Taylor for her decision. While many celebs like Demi Lovato backed Scooter stating that he is a “good man” who is being misunderstood as a “bully”.
