Tom Cruise, Dwayne Johnson & More, Here Are Hollywood’s 10 Highest Paid Movie Stars

While Tom Cruise earned more than $100 million for his latest movie Top Gun: Maverick, Will Smith became the second highest paid actor.

Tom Cruise has been at the top of the Hollywood movie industry for over four decades. And his latest movie Top Gun: Maverick made him Hollywood’s highest-earning actor. Tom Cruise has earned more than $100 million for his latest flick, as per a new report by Variety. Top Gun: Maverick is now Paramount’s highest-grossing movie ever worldwide taking in $1.2 billion globally and the first of Cruise’s movies to pass the billion-dollar mark.

Top Gun: Maverick is also only the 12th film in history to cross the $600 million mark at the domestic box office. Will Smith is the second highest-paid actor with $35 million for his upcoming film, Emancipation. Also on the list are Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel and Joaquin Phoenix, among others. Read to know all the highest-paid Hollywood actors and actresses.

Will Smith is the second biggest earner, according to Variety. The actor signed on to star in the action thriller Emancipation for $35 million in June 2020. Apple won a bidding war for the distribution rights to the film which is being directed by Antoine Fuqua and principal photography began in New Orleans in the summer of 2021. However, this past May it was announced that the film’s release would be pushed back to 2023 citing production delays.

The third high earner in the film category is Leonardo DiCaprio who earned $30 million for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Killers of The Flower Moon and fourth is Brad Pitt who is getting $ 30 million for an as-yet-untitled Formula 1 drama. Dwayne Johnson will get $22.5M for his upcoming movie Black Adam which is scheduled to release this year on October 22.

Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth (Extraction 2), Denzel Washington (Equalizer 3), Vin Diesel (Fast X), Joaquin Phoenix (Joker 2), Tom Hardy (Venom 3), Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds (Spirited) all earned $20 million for their respective films. However, Jason Momoa has been offered $15M for the upcoming movies Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom which will hit theatres on 17 March 2023. Eddie Murphy will get $15M for Beverly Hills Cop 4.

Lower on the list were stars of the highly-anticipated upcoming Barbie film, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, each making $12.5 million. Millie Bobby Brown is getting $10M for Enola Holmes 2. Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, and Emily Blunt are the other lower highly paid actor as they get $4M for Oppenheimer.
