THIS Pop Star Just Joined The Beauty And The Beast Prequel

The upcoming Disney+ prequel series is set in the world of Beauty And The Beast and will explore his character's origins.

Not a while ago, Emma Watson’s reboot of Beauty And The Beast was released in theatres and became a blockbuster hit. However, now, Beauty And The Beast prequel series, which has yet to find a title, is hitting the headline. The upcoming prequel will also be a ‘musical event,’ with favorite Disney composer Alan Menken in talks to return as well.

Meanwhile, talking about its cast, Rita Ora has recently revealed that she’s set to star in the highly anticipated Disney+ Beauty And The Beast prequel series. The singer struggled to contain her excitement as she gushed about ‘joining the fairytale world’ while sharing a set of childhood snaps of herself dressed as Belle on Instagram. Rita will play a fugitive with surprising abilities who carries a secret that could potentially affect an entire kingdom in the eight-episode limited musical series.

Rita Ora looked chic in a black suit and white T-shirt as she beamed in the accompanying photos while posing in front of a TV displaying the streaming service’s logo. Along with the series of photos, she penned a lengthy caption. The Poison songstress began, “I can’t keep the secret any longer! I’m beyond excited to be joining the cast of the Beauty and the Beast prequel series!”

Rita Ora continues, “As a child, I remember watching Beauty and the Beast with my family over and over and immediately falling in love with the music and characters. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined joining this fairytale world. To everyone that helped make this happen, I am forever grateful. Thank you to Disney+, my CAA squad – Dan, Joella, Tracy – Shari, and my management family. Lately, I just feel like all my dreams are coming true! Life is feeling like a Disney movie!”

However, Josh Gad, famous for his contributions to the Disney empire thanks to Frozen’s Olaf and Beauty’s eccentric LeFou, is set to co-write, executive produce, and star in the new series. It is set in the world of Beauty And The Beast and will explore his character’s origins as well as those of his beloved Gaston, who was played by hunky Welsh actor Luke Evans in the 2017 reboot of the animated classic.
