Now, Lizzo’s Former Documentary Director, Sophia Nahli Allison, Accuses The Singer Of Being Narcissistic And Unkind

Sophia Took To Her Social Media Handle To Share Her Experience, Emphasizing The Importance Of Validating Other Black Women's Experiences

Singer Lizzo is making headlines after former dancers in her company allegedly accused her of sexual harassment and creating a toxic work environment, leading to a case being filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court. Adding to the controversy, filmmaker Sophia Nahli Allison has accused the singer of treating her inappropriately.

Sophia took to her social media handle to share her experience, emphasizing the importance of validating other Black women’s experiences. She stated, “In 2019, I traveled a bit with Lizzo to be the director of her documentary. I walked away after about two weeks.” Allison claimed that she was treated with disrespect and witnessed Lizzo’s arrogance, self-centeredness, and unkind behavior.

Describing the situation as “sh***y,” Allison expressed gratitude for trusting her instincts and walking away. While feeling gaslit and deeply hurt, she acknowledged that she has since healed. Reading the reports about the allegations made her realize the dangerous nature of the situation, emphasizing that abuse of power like this happens far too often. Sophia extended her love and support to the dancers involved in the case.

In 2022, the documentary “Love, Lizzo,” directed by Doug Pray, was released on HBO Max. It remains unclear whether Sophia Allison was the original director of this project or if she was filming a different documentary at the time.

Earlier, the plaintiffs, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, made several charges against Lizzo, including sexual, religious, and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault, and false imprisonment. The law firm representing them issued a statement saying, “Davis and Williams were eventually fired while Rodriguez resigned over the appalling behavior.”

The allegations against Lizzo and the ongoing legal battle have drawn significant attention, sparking discussions about the importance of addressing abuse of power and creating safe and respectful work environments for all individuals.
