Adding another new milestone to his illustrious discography, Shawn Mendes executive produces Life Is Strange series. He has been brought on board for the TV series adaptation of Square Enix’s popular video game of 2015, titled Life Is Strange as an executive producer according to a globally renowned hollywood entertainment portal who officially gave a verified confirmation of the same few days back on 31st August in their news report.
News related to Life Is Strange TV series adaption first came out on social media and broke the internet five years back in the year 2016, straight away from the Legendary Digital Studios and Square Enix.
Back then, it was announced that dj2 Entertainment would back and bankroll the project. Then a year later according to a report by a renowned hollywood entertainment digital publication in 2017, the official rights to the series had been sold to renowned OTT streaming platform Hulu.
Shawn is joining the Life Is Strange series alongside his manager Andrew Gertler who is also his partner at Permanent Content that is their television and film production company launched in late 2020 as a joint venture with Anonymous Content and have already produced his Netflix documentary titled In Wonder together.
Both Shawn and Andrew are said to be overseeing music for the series. As players might know, the inclusion of music was an integral and most important part of the first video game, which followed the story of Max Caulfield, a high schooler that serendipitously uncovers a special ability to unwind time.
The Life Is Strange soundtrack, which has an legit official playlist on global giant music streamng platform Spotify, features an specially customized and created original score by Jonathan Morali as well as licensed tracks from mostly indie acts: the likes of Alt-J, Angus & Julia Stone, and Syd Matters.
