Selena Gomez Teases Her Next Album

Though Selena Gomez didn't commit to plans for an upcoming tour, she hints that taking her music on the road has been on her radar.

Selena Gomez’s new music is on the way! The Only Murders in the Building star recently revealed she’s currently hard at work on a new album, which would mark her first release since her debut Spanish-language EP Revelación in 2021. In a recent interview, Gomez said, “I just finished Season 4 of my cooking show [Selena + Chef], and I am in L.A. working on my album now.”

While the songstress didn’t commit to plans for an upcoming tour, she hints that taking her music on the road has been on her radar. Disney alum said, “I am open to a tour, 1,000 per cent. But I obviously have obligations and things that I want to do, so, when the time’s right. It’s not the top of my priority list.” Gomez, who hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time earlier this month, released Revelación in March 2021, and the album Rare in 2020. She also popped up on the Coldplay track “Let Somebody Go” in October.

The star did not take Rare on tour. Meanwhile, Revelación, which she has called “a homage to my heritage,” earned Gomez her first Grammy nomination, for Best Latin Pop Album. While sharing her first Grammy nomination reaction, Selena revealed that she cried like a little baby. Gomez added, “I was very excited. I worked really hard on that project, so it was a lovely surprise. I’m very excited!”

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez has recently appeared on Saturday Night Live for the first time as a host, and the songstress brought the laughs during her SNL hosting debut. The Wolves singer hosted the late-night comedy sketch series over the weekend, where she opened the show with a monologue that poked fun at her relationship status. Gomez quipped, “One reason I’ve been very happy to host is that I’m single. And I’ve heard SNL is a great place to find romance.”

Noting how stars met their significance on the series, Gomez jokingly teased that SNL brought together Machine Gun Kelly and Pete Davidson. The Who Says singer then explained that she has no interest in dating apps, adding, “I just want to put it out into the universe that I’m manifesting love. I would like to say that I’m looking for my soulmate, but at this point, I will take anyone.”
