Popular Hollywood actor Richard Gere is recovering with his family in Mexico after being ill for weeks, a representative confirmed by Deadline. The actor was on vacation with his family in Nuevo Vallarta and fell ill with pneumonia. He was taken to a hospital and is recovering.
Richard Gere was celebrating his wife’s 40th birthday with their young children when they fell ill. His wife Alejandra Silvia shared an update on her health on social media.

“Thank you all for the birthday wishes… after almost 3 weeks of everyone in our family being sick today I’m finally feeling a lot better! Thank you for all the love, I give you everything back,” said Silva’s Instagram post shared on Thursday.
TMZ, who first broke the news, said the Pretty Woman actor developed a bad cough that was taken to hospital, which was later diagnosed as pneumonia. Gere spent the night in the hospital and was discharged the next morning. He was reportedly prescribed antibiotics to help him recover.
