Rebel Wilson made a name for herself with American film audiences, starting in 2012, through her role as Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect franchise. But because she had a character whose personality was linked to her weight, it wasn’t like the Aussie was going to slim down to an entirely different body.

The 40-year-old admitted in a new interview that she was previously paid to remain on the heavier side for parts, but now she’s decided to put her health first.

The actress said the mentality in the film industry could “mess with your head a bit” and she was trying to sort it all out on her own.

“I turned 40 as well in March and so I thought, this is gonna be it. This is going to be the year for me to just concentrate on the health benefits.

“So now I’m just trying to work on the mental side and the physical job and doing a lot of personal training.

“And on the nutrition side like, it’s cool I should probably write a book at some point about it because people seem to be interested.”

“Weirdly this year was always going to be the year of health. I’ve been naming my years now, and, that’s kind of having these resolutions but for the whole year,” she stated in an interview with a news portal the Sun.
