The upcoming movie ‘Spencer’ is directed by Pablo Larrain. However, the one-minute teaser released last month showed Stewart uttering just two words, while the trailer gives a more in-depth look at Princess Diana. The plot reimagines the three days at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham Estate when the beloved British royal decided to end her marriage with Prince Charles, played by Jack Farthing.

The trailer starts with Stewart driving to Sandringham Estate for the Christmas holidays. A glimpse of her looking in the mirror and reminding herself, “Three days, that’s it,” amazingly captures the emotions of Diana battled. In another scene, she is advised to “stand very still and smile a lot.”

A sequence of cuts shows Stewart as Diana dancing, ripping off a pearl necklace, and also in her iconic wedding dress. An impressive conclusion to the trailer shows Stewart uttering the words, “Will they kill me, do you think?”

The dynamic trailer promises a dramatic and focussed take on the character of Princess Diana, which has been often been reduced to either evil or the very definition of goodness in the public imagination. Apart from Stewart, the cast also includes Sally Hawkins, Olga Hellsing as Sarah, Duchess of York, Amy Manson as Anne Boleyn, and Niklas Kohrt as Prince Andrew reported Variety.

Directed by Pablo Larrain and penned by ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight, the film had received a three-minute standing ovation following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month.
