The incident took place during the Renaissance World Tour in Los Angeles, where BeyoncĂ© was performing her famous song “Break My Soul” on stage. However, North was patiently waiting for the singer to turn towards her so she could be captured in a photo. Unfortunately, when BeyoncĂ© finally turned towards North, Kim was engrossed in a conversation with BeyoncĂ©’s husband, Jay-Z. North’s exasperation was captured on camera, and the video quickly circulated on social media.
A Twitter user, @dropfwt, shared the video with the caption, “North waited for BeyoncĂ© to look towards her for 5 minutes so Kim could photograph her with BeyoncĂ©. She was ready to pose the only time BeyoncĂ© turned towards her. And then she noticed Kim was talking with Jay, and her camera wasn’t open.”
As soon as the video went online, it went viral, and netizens started to comment. One user wrote, “If she’s anything like her Daddy, she will be mad at Kim for the rest of the year.” Another user wrote, “She better have taken that baby backstage to meet her because I would’ve been pissed too, lol.” The third user suggested, “Kim should have kept it on record and then later screenshot the video at the point when they were facing in the same direction. Or she could have kept tapping the white circle while recording (iPhone) to capture. It works every time.”
