Khabane ‘Khaby’ Lame Becomes The Most Popular TikToker In The World

Khabane 'Khaby' Lame has overtaken Charli D'Amelio as the most followed person on TikTok, setting a new Guinness World Record.

Lame took advantage of the platform’s flood of viral and often outrageously hard-life hack films, releasing wordless reply movies in response and showcasing quicker ways to do the task at hand. In one video, for example, someone makes a toothbrush with built-in toothpaste out of scissors, an electric drill, a syringe, and superglue and Lame reacts by just squeezing toothpaste onto a toothbrush.

Earlier this month, he told HYPEBEAST, “I made videos on YouTube as a child, but only my father and uncle watched them. And it was with TikTok that I realized that I had found the ideal platform for me to upload my self-deprecating and comic videos.” He added, “I like to entertain people with my irony, but it’s just a tool to do what I’m really interested in encouraging those who follow me to fight to achieve their goals.”

Lame was born in Senegal and relocated to Northern Italy at the age of one. He rose to prominence on the video-sharing network in 2020 after being let off from his manufacturing job due to the pandemic. He is now collaborating with BOSS to produce a limited-edition capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2022. On the other hand, Charli D’Amelio, 18, was the first TikTok content artist to have 50 million and 100 million followers because of her lip-syncing and dance choreography videos.

She previously told PEOPLE that her mother taught her “everything that I know from learning how to be confident with myself to figuring out my style and what I love about myself.” She added, “I feel like, through every step of the way, I’m very thankful to have my mom and my parents in general, just always uplifting me.” According to an estimate released by Celebrity Net Worth, Lame had a net worth of $5 million when he had 115 million TikTok followers, while D’Amelio has a net worth of about $17.5 million, according to Forbes.
