Katy Perry and fiancé Orlando Bloom have announced that she is expecting her first child.
The singer released the music video for her new single “Never Worn White” on Thursday 5 March, off her forthcoming fifth studio album.
Perry wears a range of stylish garments in the music video including a white gown and a floral production Midsommar-esque.
The 35-year-old is shown, cradling a baby bump, at the end of the short film. Following the release of the music video, the singer participated with her 90.5 m followers in an Instagram Live video in which she announced that she is pregnant.
“There’s a lot that’s happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth, literally, and figuratively… to something you guys have been waiting for,” she said to the camera.
“I’m excited, we’re excited and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music.”
Perry showed a close up of her pregnant stomach at one point in the live video, before blurring the camera back to her face and shouting in awe.
This is going to be Katy’s first child. It will be his second for Orlando. He and his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, share a son, Flynn. Congratulations!
