Jonathan Majors, known for his role as the antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming movie ‘Kang: The Conqueror,’ has been charged with assault and harassment against his former girlfriend, British choreographer Grace Jabbari.
A jury consisting of six members from New York City found Majors guilty on assault and harassment charges. According to reports from Variety, the actor could potentially face up to a year in jail.
Following the revelation of these charges, Marvel Studios swiftly removed Majors from all their upcoming projects, including ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty.’ Previously, Majors had experienced a successful 2023, receiving acclaim for his performance as the main villain in ‘Ant-Man 3,’ and earning praise for ‘Creed III.’ Additionally, his role in the Sundance drama ‘Magazine Dreams’ as a disturbed amateur bodybuilder garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences alike.
Maintaining his innocence since the arrest on March 25, Majors’ legal team argued that Jabbari was the aggressor in the altercation and that the prosecution failed to establish beyond a reasonable doubt that Majors caused her injuries.
In a statement to CNN, Priya Chaudhry, an attorney for Majors, expressed confidence in the legal process, affirming their commitment to clearing Majors’ name.
Throughout the trial, Majors opted not to testify and was seen attending court dressed in various double-breasted suits, accompanied by his new girlfriend.
