Fantasia Barrino is upset about a recent family trip that got cut short because of what she says is racial profiling. She shared on social media how they were asked to leave the Airbnb they rented.
She expressed feeling upset and uncomfortable on her way back home due to the incident. According to her post, they were asked to leave by their Airbnb host around midnight, and she felt that it was unfair treatment towards her and her kids.
Fantasia Barrino mentioned that the host accused them of having a noisy party because they saw balloons being delivered and a game truck, even though the number of guests matched their reservation. She noticed signs that showed people often had parties at the house by the lake, including things left over from previous parties.
“They never said we weren’t allowed to have any company over!!” Barrino wrote.
“It’s evident to me this was racial profiling and the treatment we received was due to the color of our skin. I wanted my son to enjoy with his friends (10-12) year old and make him feel special as I have been traveling for the last 35+ days promoting a movie I starred in. This time, I dare not stay quiet.”
She believes that what happened was because of the color of their skin, which made her feel like they were being treated unfairly. She wanted her son to have a good time with his friends but felt that they were being judged wrongly.
Airbnb responded to Fantasia’s post, saying they don’t support discrimination and asked her to share more details privately so they could investigate.
