Jennifer Lopez has shared about her romantic proposal fiancé Ben Affleck made to her, which was decided ‘nothing fancy at all.’ A few days back, the Marry Me actress revealed that she and Affleck are engaged, 18 years after they called off their previous engagement back in January 2004. However, in a new edition of her On the JLo newsletter, Lopez detailed how the proposal went down and talked about their “second chance at true love.”
JLO began the newsletter while noting, “Did you ever imagine your biggest dream could come true? “Saturday night while at my favourite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed.” The actress continues, “I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES.”
While talking about her reaction to the proposal, Jlo said she was smiling and tears were coming down her face. She was feeling so incredibly happy and whole. The singer added, “It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined…just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other.” Lopez concluded her newsletter while saying, “Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love.”
The star also referenced her green diamond engagement ring, writing, “Green has always been my lucky colour and now, for sure, it always will be.” Lopez included photos from her camera roll, including a close-up of the jewellery. In the newsletter, she also included her video in which she announced, “I’m engaged.”
