Robbie Coltrane Death: It’s sad news for all the Harry Potter fans! Our beloved Hagrid is no more. Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane, best known for playing Hagrid in the popular film series Harry Potter, passed away on Friday. His agent Belinda Wright confirmed the news that he died on Friday at a hospital in Scotland. However, she did not confirm the cause of Robbie Coltrane’s death.
Robbie was 72 years old. He is survived by his sister Annie Rae, his ex-wife Rhona Gemmell and his children Spencer and Alice. His agent also added in her statement that he was “a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent, brilliantly witty and after 40 years of being proud to be called his agent, I shall miss him.”
Robbie came to the limelight when he played a detective in Cracker. He even won the best actor award at the British Academy Television Awards (BAFTA) for three years consecutively. Later, he gained worldwide popularity when he played the role of Hagrid in Harry Potter. Robbie was last seen in Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
