Supermodel Gigi Hadid had fallen in love with India. She arrived in Mumbai for the grand opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) on Friday and has been raving about the beauty of the country ever since.

Today she took to Instagram and thanked the Ambani family for inviting her to India and sharing her experience of Indian culture. “Thank you to the Ambani family for hosting me at the @nmacc.india opening weekend in Mumbai! It was an honor to be there to see your family’s vision come to life in a beautiful, world-class cultural center to celebrate India’s creativity and heritage,” she wrote.

Gigi surprised everyone with her presence in India. At the 2nd NMACC, Gigi was spotted in a tailored Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla Chikankari saree and gold jeweled bodice. The pre-folded six yards featured intricately designed Patti gold edging and a thigh-high slit at the side. Not only Gigi but Tom Holland and Zendaya also brought a firangi touch to the NMACC’s opening.

On her Instagram Stories, she shared a video of the moment and wrote, “@varundvn making my Bollywood dream come true.” She added laughing emojis at the end.
For the inexperienced, Varun Dhawan performed on the stage at the NMACC on Saturday. During his performance, he carried Gigi onto the stage and took her in his arms when she acted surprised. As he lowered her, he planted a kiss on her cheek as well. As soon as the video of the performance was uploaded to social media, Varun was heavily criticized as netizens were convinced Varun had picked up Gigi without their consent.
Just hours after a video of the performance went viral, Varun broke his silence about the trolling and clarified that it was a “planned” act. In response to a tweet criticizing him, he wrote: “I guess you woke up today and decided to wake up. So let me burst your bubble and tell you that she was scheduled to go on stage, so find a new reason to vent on Twitter.” then go out and do something about it. Good morning”.
