Chris Evans, famous for portraying the iconic role of Captain America in Marvel movies, has reportedly tied the knot with Alba Baptista, a Luso-Brazilian actress, as reported by Page Six. The wedding took place at their home in Massachusetts on a Saturday.
The marriage was kept a secret, with only close family and friends receiving invitations. Among the attendees were Marvel co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner. Guests were required to sign NDAs and surrender their phones to ensure the secrecy of the ceremony.
The couple had been in a relationship for over a year before deciding to get married, as revealed by a source who spoke to People in November 2022. Their relationship was described as “serious,” and Alba received the adoration of Evans’ family and friends.
The couple made their first public appearance together in November 2022 when they were seen holding hands in Central Park, shortly after news of their relationship surfaced.
Earlier, Chris had spoken about his desire to start a family and get married. He told PEOPLE, “That’s absolutely something I want — a wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
“So it’s also something that rings true through my 41 years. Those things are the most important. I love the idea of tradition and ceremony; I had a lot of that in my life. So the idea of creating that, I can’t think of anything better,” he added.
