Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been in the headlines since their ongoing legal battle. While the former couple have been fighting for custody of their children since their divorce in 2019, they are also in the midst of a legal battle over their Miraval estate and winery.
Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her stake in their winery to intentionally harm his reputation. From calling her vindictive to accusing her of pressuring him into a partnership with a stranger.
According to court records reported by Page Six, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie claim they agreed they would never sell their respective interests in the $30 million Château Miraval property, which they jointly purchased in 2008, without the other’s consent. The actress, however, decided she wanted out after their divorce in 2019 and began negotiating a buy-out option with the “Bullet Train” actor.
As per the media reports, documents claim that Angelina Jolie even consented to split the company 68 percent to 38 percent (as specified in the calculations) in favour of Brad Pitt because he had put more money and effort into Château Miraval. However, the “Troy” actor learned in the summer of 2021 through a news release that the “Maleficent” actress had sold her 50% ownership to a “Russian oligarch,” whom Pitt had earlier rejected.
The records state that Yuri Shefler, who also owns Stoli Group, and Brad’s “vindictive” ex-wife “collaborated in secret” to keep Brad in the dark. Angelina “no longer wanted to sell to Pitt” in the “wake of the adverse custody ruling,” in which he was given shared custody of their six kids, according to the most recent documents. Her purposeful and pretextual decision to end discussions with Pitt was stated in the paper submitted to the LA Superior Court.
