Avatar 4: Sam Worthington, “Avatar” Franchise Actor Drops Major Update About Sequel’s Production Process

Worthington shared with ‘People’ magazine that they would commence shooting the 4th part in February 2024.

James Cameron’s huge world of the Avatar Franchise has held the attention of Avatar fans with the most anticipated news of Avatar 4 filming.  As everyone is hoping for a long continuation of this mesmerizing world started in the year 2009, Avatar franchise lead Sam Worthington has given an inclusive insight into the sequel.

Worthington shared with ‘People’ magazine that they would commence shooting the 4th part in February 2024. Avatar 3 is yet to release and the 4th and 5th parts are already on the shooting schedule. Avatar 3 will be released in the year 2025.

If we look at the timeline of the sequels’ release, “Avatar” was released in the year 2009 and, after 13 years, its sequel “Avatar: The Way of Water” was released in 2022. Filming of part 3 has been concluded, and it will be released in the year 2025. While the other two parts, 4th and 5th, which will be under production soon, will be released in the year 2029 and 2031 respectively. But you must be thinking why is there so much of a gap between two productions?

To fabricate the intricate world of Avatar, they have used CGI techniques, i.e. Computer Generated Imagery. CGI needs an extensive timeline to work on it. And therefore, there is a huge gap between the filming and release of a part. Also, director James Cameron wanted to take an in-universe time jump so that the audience could easily understand the passage of time.

There has been comprehensive work done with CGI on Pandora World to give audiences the best cinematic experience. Avatar 3 wrapped its filming in 2020 and the anticipated release date is in the year 2025. And as 4th part will get into production, we will get a surface idea about the world we will see in the 4th part.
