Aquaman Actor Jason Momoa Is Devastated By Maui Fire, Says, ‘Heartbroken For Our Friends’

Maui is currently ravaged by fire, resulting in the loss of several lives. Jason Momoa, the actor known for his role in “Aquaman” and a native of Hawaii, took to his social media account to express his emotions.

“We are devastated and heartbroken for our friends and ‘ohana on Maui who have been impacted by the recent wildfires,” the actor wrote.

He also shared videos and photos of the fire, vividly depicting the destruction the wildfire has brought upon the beautiful island. According to the Associated Press, officials have reported a death toll of at least 53 people, with dozens more injured due to the blaze. Over 271 structures have been damaged or destroyed.

“We are still in life preservation mode. Search and rescue remains a primary concern,” stated Adam Weintraub, spokesperson for the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, as reported by the AP.

Even Mick Fleetwood took to his Instagram account to share his thoughts, mentioning that his restaurant had also been engulfed by the fire. “Maui and the Lahaina community have been my home for several decades.This is a devastating moment for Maui, and many are enduring unimaginable losses,” wrote the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer.

He continued, “While we are heartbroken, our main priority is the safety of our dedicated staff and team members. On behalf of myself and my family, I extend my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the people of Maui. We are committed to supporting the community and those affected by this disaster in the coming days, months, and years.”

Jason also shared a fundraising post from the nonprofit organization ‘Āina Momona on his account. The organization is collecting funds to aid the people of Maui during this challenging time.
