Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2” is shattering records at the box office, raking in substantial earnings and surpassing the Rs 300 crore mark with an ongoing count. However, fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of “Gadar 3.”
While there hasn’t been an official declaration from the filmmakers, Sunny himself has confirmed the forthcoming “Gadar 3.” A viral video captures the actor responding positively to photographers’ queries about the third installment.
As he arrived at the airport, paps told him, “Gadar 3 ka wait kar rahe hai.” The actor was all smiles as he replied, “Vo bhi aayegi. Thank you.”
During the success celebration of “Gadar 2,” director Anil Sharma shared some insights about the much-anticipated “Gadar 3.” “You’ll have to wait for that. Intezar ka fal meetha hota hai, just like this one (Gadar 2). Some thoughts have come to me and Shaktimaan Ji’s (writer of Gadar 2) minds. So just wait everything will happen,” he revealed to the media present at the event.
Turning our focus to “Gadar 2,” the film is a sequel to “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,” originally released in theaters in 2001. In the original, Sunny Deol portrayed Tara, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel depicted Sakina, set amidst India’s partition in 1947. “Gadar 2” continues the narrative of Tara Singh as he ventures across the border to rescue his son (played by Utkarsh Sharma), who is captured in Pakistan. The movie is directed by Anil Sharma.
The sequel has made a remarkable impact at the box office, emerging as the second-best opener of 2023, following Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan.” During the film’s success celebration, Sunny revealed, “I was quite anxious before the movie’s release. When the film finally premiered, I experienced a mix of tears and laughter throughout the night. My father was present and he noticed. I told him, ‘I haven’t had a drink. I’m just happily overwhelmed.’
