While Serving As An MP, Sunny Deol Won At The Box Office The Previous Year But Avoided Speaking In Parliament.

Sunny Deol, whose real name is Ajay Singh Deol, Actor turned politician who now serves as a member of the Lok Sabha as BJP's candidate for Gurdaspur.

People hope that their voices will be heard at the temple of democracy through the representatives they send to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament. The purpose of these elected members of Parliament’s election is called into question if they decide to say nothing while serving as MPs.

Nine out of the 543 Lok Sabha MPs reportedly said nothing in Parliament.

BJP MPs that did not speak in Parliament include Sunny Deol, B.N. Bache Gowda, Anant Kumar Hegde, V Srinivas Prasad, and Ramesh Jigajinagi. Shatrughan Sinha, Atul Rai, Pradan Baruah, and Dibyendu Adhikari are among the other names on the list. Everybody else, excluding Sinha and Rai, is a member of the BJP. Atul Rai is a member of the BSP, whereas Shatrughan Sinha is a TMC MP.

How about these nine MPs, according to their attendance records?

MP attendance records show that a number of them did not bother to attend the Parliamentary sessions. Atul Rai, Sunny Deol, and Dibyendu Adhikari were among the MPs with the lowest attendance rates—1%,17%, and 24%, respectively.  Three of them reportedly did not ask a question or contribute, and the other six made use of at least one Parliamentary tool.

Like Jigajinagi, Rai declined to participate, as did Shatrughan Sinha, who is well-known for his dialogue delivery in movies. In April 2022, Sinha was elected to the Lok Sabha through a by-election. Six of the nine MPs are members of the BJP, which is currently in power. Two MPs, Sinha and Dibyendu Adhikari, are from the Trinamool Congress, while Atul Rai is from the BSP.

While not speaking, Sunny Deol, Adhikari, Bachegowda, Baruah, Hegde, and Prasad either made contributions or asked questions. During the meetings, Sunny Deol reportedly tabled written contributions but did not speak.

A top official in Parliament who was quoted in a report by The Hindu claims that Sunny Deol was given two opportunities to speak by the Speaker of the House, but both attempts were unsuccessful.

Statistics from the 17th Lok Sabha show that 222 bills were passed and 1,116 questions were answered orally by ministers. Moreover, 5,568 concerns were brought up during Zero Hour.
