When Zeenat Aman Was Abused In Front Of The Cast And Crew Due To Amitabh Bachchan

Zeenat Aman recalled a day when they had a morning shoot, and she had hitched a ride to the set with the film's producer.

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman shared a belated birthday post for megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who celebrated his 81st birthday on October 11. In her heartfelt post, Zeenat Aman not only extended her birthday wishes but also took a trip down memory lane, revealing an incident from their past collaboration on a film.

In a throwback picture shared on her Instagram, Zeenat Aman and Amitabh Bachchan can be seen in a candid moment from one of their photoshoots. She accompanied the photo with a lengthy note, recounting a peculiar incident from the set without explicitly naming the film, director, or producer involved.

In her post, Zeenat Aman recalled a day when they had a morning shoot, and she had hitched a ride to the set with the film’s producer. She meticulously rehearsed her lines during the journey to the studio, fully prepared for the day’s work. However, upon her arrival, she headed to her makeup room and requested the crew to inform her when Mr. Bachchan was ready for the shot. Much to her surprise, the “roll time” passed with no sign of Amitabh Bachchan. A full hour went by before an assistant director knocked on her door to inform her of Mr. Bachchan’s arrival, who had rushed straight from his car to the set.

What followed was a shocking incident where the director wrongly blamed Zeenat Aman for the delay, unleashing a torrent of abuse in front of the cast and crew. Stunned into silence, Zeenat Aman recalled how she couldn’t get a word in, and tears of indignation welled up. Faced with the unwarranted dressing down, she immediately left the set and told her team to pack up.

As the team began to pack her makeup kit, the film’s producer arrived with Amitabh Bachchan. Mr. Bachchan took responsibility, apologizing for the director’s behavior, explaining that the director was inebriated, and suggested they move forward. Zeenat Aman accepted his apology, but the humiliation she endured had left her in no mood to continue shooting. After some persuasion, she agreed to return to the set.

In a rather melodramatic turn of events, the director sought forgiveness by throwing himself at her feet. Although Zeenat Aman completed the film, she made it clear in her post that she never worked with that director again.

Zeenat Aman and Amitabh Bachchan have shared the screen in numerous iconic films, including “Don,” “Laawaris,” “The Great Gambler,” “Dostana,” “Mahaan,” “Pukaar,” and many more.

Zeenat Aman made her Instagram debut on February 11, 2023, and has since been actively engaging with her followers, sharing intriguing throwback pictures, videos, and anecdotes from her illustrious career.
