The Narcotics Control Bureau is after the Bollywood industry to dig up the alleged drug nexus. Their search began while investigating the drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. A-listers like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet and Shraddha Kapoor were summoned by NCB to investigate them after their drug chats came up.

In 2018, when Ranbir was riding high on the success of his film ‘Sanju’, he confessed he tried drugs during his college days and that he is now addicted to something much worse. He said, “I have tried drugs when I was in college and got into bad influence. But I realised that nothing will happen in life if I continue with drugs.”
He further said, “Every man makes mistakes in his life. I am addicted to nicotine now and it’s worse than drugs.”
He had even admitted that he has a drinking problem. Ranbir said, “I’m aware I have a drinking problem. When I shoot, when I work, I don’t drink.”
It is interesting that Ranbir confessed his drug addiction and no action was ever taken against him. Ranbir played Sanjay Dutt in the latter’s biopic titled Sanju. Sanjay Dutt was very honest with his addiction of drugs from the beginning. But instead of carrying a witch hunt or media trial against him, people blamed his drug addiction on his mother’s battle with cancer or his volatile love life.

On the other hand, Rhea Chakraborty has been taken into custody for allegedly procuring 59 grams of drugs for her boyfriend Sushant. Rhea was accused of murder and abetment to suicide in Sushant’s death case. However, no such evidence has been found against her.
