“Mann,” a celebrated Bollywood film featuring renowned actors like Aamir Khan, Manisha Koirala, Anil Kapoor, and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles, recently marked its 24th anniversary on July 9. The movie was released in 1999 and drew inspiration from the Hollywood film “An Affair to Remember.”

Interestingly, Aamir Khan, found himself at the center of a peculiar rumor. In 1994, rumors circulated that the actor had suffered brain damage and had tragically passed away while being hospitalized.

In an old interview with Lehren, recorded in the same year, Aamir Khan candidly addressed the incident, stating, “I am alive. What happened was that I experienced a sudden bout of dizziness and was promptly rushed to the hospital. Cardiologists, neurologists, and ENT specialists were called in to examine my condition, and they all concluded that I was fine. So, what really happened?”

Aamir further explained that due to his hectic schedule, shooting continuously for 23 days on night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., he was advised by the doctors to take some rest. “I told them about my exhaustive shooting schedule, and the doctor responded, saying that I needed some rest,” concluded the actor.

Shifting focus to Aamir Khan’s recent endeavors, his last film, “Laal Singh Chaddha,” unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. Released in August of the previous year amidst boycott calls, the film was directed by Advait Chandan and also starred Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya. Serving as the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ critically acclaimed film “Forrest Gump” (1994), “Laal Singh Chaddha” received mixed reviews from critics and grossed ₹129.64 crore worldwide. Subsequently, the film was made available on Netflix.
