‘Shah Rukh Khan’ started off 2023 with supreme swag as 2 of his movies ‘Pathaan’ & ‘Jawan’ released in January and September respectively; resulted out to be All Time Blockbusters. Both high-budget magnum opus ventures grossed over the ‘Rs. 500 crore’ mark in turn shattering all possible box office records of Bollywood till date. SRK made his magical come-back this time almost after 5 years since his last creation ‘Zero’ which was screened back in 2018.
The Baadshah actor was supposed to end 2023 in style with the highly anticipated ‘Dunki’, but this comedy-drama genre movie garnered mixed views from the audiences and additionally clashed with Prabhas’s action saga ‘Salaar’ too, which resulted the economics of Dunki with a declining trend.
The Christmas release project Dunki also marks Shah Rukh and dynamic director Rajkumar Hirani’s 1st collaboration for which the entire nation was eagerly waiting since ages. However the Film Fanatic’s had expected an another ‘3 Idiots’, ‘P.k’ and ‘Sanju’ level creation from Hirani plus a ‘Pathaan’ or ‘Jawan’ like performance from King Khan, but sorrowly as per records and statistics Dunki couldn’t attain the starry-cult status as the above mentioned movies of these 2 cinematic geniuses.
As per Sacnilk.com, the SRK film has minted upto ‘Rs.176 crores’ Net (Hindi) in 10 days since its drop at the celluloid, the movie earned a whopping amount of ‘Rs. 29.2 crores’ on day-1 but the digits are constantly cruising downwards since the debut day. As a result Shah Rukh Khan’s this hat-trick venture is gliding averagely on the movie market windows in comparison to his earlier mega movies ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’.
Dunki also stars ‘Tapsee Pannu’, ‘Boman Irani’, ‘Vicky Kaushal’, ‘Vikram Kochhar’ and ‘Anil Grover’ in pivotal roles. Helmed By ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ and ‘Rajkumar Hirani Films’, the story of this 120 crore budget film is penned by the master ‘Abhijat Joshi’.
Apparently post Dunki, there are rumours floating on the social media regarding SRK Playing the main lead in YRF’s most awaited powerful project ‘Dhoom-4’.
