Even since the release of the Bell Bottom trailer, everyone’s talking about actor Lara Dutta who is playing the role of Indira Gandhi in the film. At first, people at large failed to recognize her, courtesy, the make-up and hair team. And in a recent interview with a leading daily, Lara talked about the preparations behind that role. She told that she had begun preparing for her role amid the pandemic last year. Due to the lockdown, her meetings took place at home and her family members were present during her look tests.
She told Zoom TV the reaction of her 8-year-old daughter Saira. Lara told, “She was intrigued. She saw it come alive in front of her… She came in and she saw whole silicon on my face and said, ‘Mum they are going to kill you, you can’t breathe.’ She was so worried. Ya, but having said that, she was also very intrigued and was like, ‘Can I touch the nose, the eyebrows? Can I do this, that?’.”
Talking about her husband Mahesh Bhupathi’s reaction, she told, “My husband was shocked. He probably felt very unsettled with the look. He was like ‘I don’t want to hug you’. You don’t really look like yourself.”
Lara is quite excited about Bell Bottom’s release that is scheduled to hit the theatres on Aug 19. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi and Vaani Kapoor in pivotal roles.
