Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda Starrer “The Archies” Begins Production

Zoya Akhtar begins shoot for comic-inspired film The Archies. Starring Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor.

The much-awaited multi-starrer film Archies marking the debut of Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda has hit the floors with producer Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar sharing the news on social media. The announcement was made by sharing an image of the movie clapboard on Instagram. With clearly displaying the first take which was taken earlier on Monday. 

“Archie’s shoot starts, Tiger Baby’s first solo production #partnerincrime @zoieakhtar @Netflix,” she wrote.

The film will be the Indian adaptation of The Archies, based on the teenagers of Riverdale. Comic book characters Archie Andrews and his friends will be now seen in the Indian version on Netflix.

Netflix in collaboration with Archie comics will bring a coming-of-age story that will introduce the teenagers of Riverdale to a new generation of India. The Archies will be produced by Tiger Baby and Graphic India and will premiere exclusively on Netflix.

This feature film will star the Bollywood star kids Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda. According to the reports, Agastya will be seen playing the role of Archie Andrews, while Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan will be seen playing the role of Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge. Along with them the newcomer Vedang Raina is touted to play Archie’s best friend, Jughead. The trio was spotted on the film’s set in March for a costume trial.

Though Zoya Akhtar announced the project last year in November however, she is yet to make an official announcement about the casting of the film. While no shooting location has been revealed in the official post yet, reports suggest that the filming will take place in Ooty. While Jhanvi Kapoor was seen in Ooty with her sister Khushi Kapoor in her video on social media. Both the sisters were seen cycling, zip-lining, and chilling in scenic locations in Ooty.

Many Bollywood celebrities like Dia Mirza, Karan Johar, Shibani Dandekar, and Ananya Pandey showed their support to the team by commenting on the post by piling heart emojis and wishing them the very best for their upcoming project. Agastya’s mother Shweta Bachchan, sister Navya Naveli Nanda and his uncle Abhishek Bachchan too expressed their support as the film went on floors. While some fans were supportive expressing their love for the comics and their excitement to see the upcoming project.
