The 2014 movie Ek Villain starring Shraddha Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra was amongst the most loved films of that year. Not only did the audience laud the film but also the songs from the film went on to become chartbusters. Recently, a sequel to the thriller was announced with Aditya Roy Kapoor and John Abraham as the lead. Post the selection of the main male leads, actress Disha Patani was roped in by the filmmakers as the female lead in the film.
Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, ‘Student Of The Year 2’ debutant, Tara Sutaria has been chosen as the second female lead in ‘Ek Villain 2’ to star opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor.
As per the reports, Tara will be playing the role of a singer in the Mohit Suri directorial. Talking about Tara’s character, she will be in the space of Gone Girl’s lead. The reports state that director Mohit Suri is excited to have Tara on board for the venture.
Talking about getting Tara roped in for a role in ‘Ek Villain 2’, Mohit Suri said, “It takes a lifetime to get the nuances of a musician but luckily for me, Tara has been training for this all her life. What more can a filmmaker ask for? A new-age, uninhibited voice that comes from a place of honesty. That’s exactly what my character needs in the film.”
Speaking of ‘Ek Villain 2’, in the film, we will see a face-off between John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s character. With the film, Mohit Suri is trying to build a universe of villains.
‘Ek Villain 2’ will go on floors in the mid of 2020 and the film is slated to have a release of 8th January 2020.
