Priyanka Chopra Congratulates Kareena Kapoor As She Becomes UNICEF India National Ambassador

Bollywood's Kareena Kapoor, previously UNICEF's Celebrity Advocate since 2014, is now UNICEF India's National Ambassador.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has been appointed as the National Ambassador for UNICEF India. She initially joined the organization as a Celebrity Advocate in 2014. At her recent appointment ceremony, Kareena delivered an emotionally charged speech on stage. Priyanka Chopra, who is UNICEF’s Global Goodwill Ambassador took to her Instagram to congratulate and welcome Kareena on her achievement.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Priyanka shared a picture of Kareena from the event and wrote, “Welcome to the family @kareenakapoorkhan. Very well deserved.” Responding to PC’s wishes Kareena re-shared her story and wrote, “Thank you PCJ. See you soon.”

Kareena also shared snippets from the event and wrote, “04-05-24 An emotional day for me… I am honored to be appointed as UNICEF India National Ambassador. Working with @unicefindia over the past 10 years has been truly enriching and insightful. I am proud of the work that we have done and am reiterating my commitment to being a voice for promoting and protecting child rights and an equal future for all children.”

For those who are unaware, Priyanka has been affiliated with UNICEF since 2006 and was appointed as the National and Global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights in 2010 and 2016, respectively. She champions various causes, such as environmental conservation, healthcare, education, and women’s rights. Priyanka is particularly outspoken about gender equality and feminism.
