Directed by Randeep Hooda, the much-anticipated Bollywood biographical drama, “Swatantra Veer Savarkar” was released in theatres on 22 March 2024. Starring Randeep Hooda in the lead role alongside Ankita Lokhande the film opened to positive reviews from moviegoers. Now that the film has almost finished its first week in theaters, it’s time to determine whether the film is a box office success or failure.

As per Sacnilk.com, Swatantra Veer Savarkar registered a low opening at the box office, the film only managed to earn a total ₹ 1.15 Cr on its first day at the box office. However, the biopic film witnessed slight growth during the weekend earning ₹ 2.25 Cr on Saturday and ₹ 2.7 Cr on Sunday.
Keeping steady the film earned ₹ 2.15 Cr on Monday. However, the film saw a huge drop starting Tuesday, the film earned approx. ₹ 1.05 Cr on its fifth day, and approx ₹ 86 Lakh on Wednesday. Swatantra Veer Savarkar managed to cross the 10Cr mark in 6 days. The film now stands at a domestic total of approx. ₹ 10.06 Cr.

Swatantra Veer Savarkar started with a relatively low opening but showed some growth over the weekend. However, it witnessed a significant drop in earnings from Tuesday onwards. Despite crossing the 10 crore mark within six days, the overall trajectory suggests that it struggled to maintain momentum and experienced a rapid decline in collections. Therefore, considering the relatively modest earnings and the sharp decrease in revenue after the initial days, Swatantra Veer Savarkar could be categorized as a box-office “failure”.
