Sunny Deol has often spoken about his temper, whether it was on the sets of ‘Darr’ where the actor ripped his jeans in anger or confronting people in a cricket stadium for throwing cigarette butts. In an old interview, the actor revealed how alleged love affair rumours affected his then-fiancée, now his wife, Pooja Deol.
The interview dates back to 1989 when Sunny was shooting for the film ‘Joshilaay’ in Vancouver. During the interview with ITMB, Sunny was asked about his views on being romantically linked to various actresses. He replied, “Well, such things happen, it’s part of the game.” When asked whether such news reached his then-fiancée and now-wife, Pooja Deol, Sunny replied, “I don’t know if it reached her. There’s nothing like that.”
Further inquired about whether he felt angry when rumours circulated about him dating Amrita Singh, he playfully said, “Before joining the film line, I had seen what people write, so you have to endure all this. Sometimes I get angry when they write something too outrageous, but then if I meet someone, I catch them and give them a piece of my mind, what else can I do?”
On the work front, Sunny is enjoying the success of his latest film ‘Gadar 2,’ which is shattering records at the box office. The movie has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the box office. A few days back, the actor threw a success party for ‘Gadar 2,’ where the entire Bollywood was present, including Shah Rukh Khan. They had a rivalry from the film ‘Darr,’ but that is now in the past, and they have sorted out their differences and moved on.
In an interview with Times Of India, Sunny revealed that Shah Rukh had called him and wished him luck for “Gadar 2.” He said, “He had seen the film, and before that, he called me up and wished me. He was so happy. I spoke to his wife and son, and he said, ‘Tonight we’re going to watch the film.’ And I think he tweeted about it after that.”
