April 2024 witnessed the release of many Malayalam films like “Aavesham”, “Pavi Caretaker” and others. Meanwhile, several other films like “Malayalee From India”, “Turbo” and “Nadikar” among other films are lined up for release in May 2024. Malayalee From India (May 1)
Nivin Pauly’s highly anticipated film “Malayalee From India” is set for release on May 1. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony and written by Sharis Mohammed, known for their work on “Queen” (2018) and “Jana Gana Mana” (2022), the movie is a comedy-drama. It also stars Dhyan Sreenivasan along with Anaswara Rajan, Manju Pillai, Shine Tom Chacko, Salim Kumar, and Vijayakumar.
Nadikar (May 3)
Tovino Thomas stars in “Nadikar,” directed by Jean-Paul. Mammootty launched the teaser on April 5. The film features Tovino, Soubin Shahir, and Bhavana, and revolves around superstar David Padikkal. The cast includes Dhyan Sreenivasan, Shine Tom Chacko, Lal, Sreenath Bhasi, Veena Nandakumar, Suresh Krishna, Aju Varghese, and Anoop Menon. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and God Speed Productions, it releases on May 3.
Perumani (May 10)
“Perumani,” directed by Maju, stars Sunny Wayne and Vinay Fort. The fantasy drama revolves around the village of Perumani. It’s set to release on May 10 and features Amal Rajdev, Deepa Thomas, Navas Vallikkunnu, Vijilesh Karayad, and Radhika Radhakrishnan. Produced by Firoz Thairinil and Une Vie Movies in collaboration with Maju Movies, it’s shot by cinematographer Manesh Madhavan and scored by Gopi Sunder.
Marivillin Gopurangal (May 10)
“Marivillin Gopurangal,” directed by Arun Bose, will now premiere on May 10. The film stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Sarjano Khalid, Shruti Ramachandran, and Win C Aloshious in pivotal roles. Originally slated for a March release, the movie was postponed for undisclosed reasons, with the new date announced via social media. Promos hint at a romantic comedy, directed by Arun Bose, known for his work on “Luca” (2021).
Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil (May 16)
Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph team up for “Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil,” a family wedding entertainer. Set to release on May 16, the movie reunites Basil Joseph and Vipin Das of “Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey” fame. Produced by E4 Entertainment and Prithviraj Productions, the film features Anaswara Rajan, Nikhila Vimal, Yogi Babu, Jagadish, and Rekha Harris in the ensemble cast.
Turbo (May 23)
On Tuesday, Mammootty revealed that his movie “Turbo” is set to hit theaters worldwide on May 23. The Malayalam icon used X (previously known as Twitter) to unveil a new poster showcasing the film’s release date.
