On Tuesday, actor Rana Daggubati made a controversial comment on Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor at a King of Kotha event. Daggubati recently attended an event for Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming film in Hyderabad. A video from the occasion has gained widespread attention, featuring Rana recounting an anecdote involving Dulquer and a prominent actress from Bollywood. In his narrative, Rana praised Dulquer’s patience and humorously remarked about the actress engaging in a phone conversation with her husband about shopping, causing a delay for the entire crew. Although Rana didn’t name anyone, online users quickly noticed that he was hinting at Sonam Kapoor, and they speculated that the incident occurred during the filming of “The Zoya Factor.”
Following this, Rana Daggubati issued a clarification on X, formerly known as Twitter. He wrote, “I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted.”
apologising about his comment, he added, “I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding.”
Now it seems Sonam Kapoor has reacted to this matter, as she has shared a quote on her Instagram stories. She said, “Just a little something I’d like some people to know… especially when discussing things about people that are made up. ‘Small minds discuss people; average minds discuss events; great minds discuss ideas’.”
