Shiamak Davar’s Choreography In Fursat Is Winning Hearts

Shiamak Davar's iconic choreographic has won lots of love and attention

Ishaan Khattar’s Fursat is out and it’s pure magic that will grab your attention and keep you glued to the screen until the end. Vishal Bharadwaj directed the short film and met all the criteria for this unique artistic shot using an iPhone 14.

Gulzar put the words and the soundtrack is composed by Vishal Bharadwaj. The beautiful amalgamation of these excellent artists was enhanced by the choreography of Shiamak Davar, also known as the ‘guru of modern contemporary dance’. Ishaan Khattar, the main protagonist of this film, was a passionate student of Shiamak and had a long association with the institute.

This is the first time the student and teacher have collaborated on a short film that has received widespread acclaim from viewers. Speaking exclusively to us about Fursat and his experience working on this project, Shiamak Davar said: “When I first heard the script I was intrigued. As a choreographer, it’s always interesting to work on projects that make you work hard and bring something new to the table. The essence of it is to connect with your audience. Fursat did that.”

Shiamak added, “It has been a wonderful experience working with Vishal Bharadwaj. He is a visionary filmmaker who has been gifted with an immense knowledge of his art. Ishaan was brilliant and executed the choreography beautifully. Doing a phenomenal job was really an emotional moment for me.”

Fursat is a 30-minute musical story about the journey of a man so obsessed with influencing the future that he risks losing what matters most to him in the here and now. The film will be streamed exclusively on YouTube.
