Sam Bahadur and Animal, two films for which the audience was waiting eagerly, were finally released yesterday, December 1. Two completely opposite films—one biography and another a violent family drama—finally clashed at the box office. As per the predictions of many, Animal has crossed the mark of Rs. 50 crore and earned Rs. 61 crore at the box office on day 1. But if we compare the ratings of both movies, Sam Bahadur is one level higher than Animal.
On day 1 of release, IMDB gave ratings to both films, and Vicky Kaushal, starring Sam Bahadur, received the highest rating of 9.1 out of 10 after release. On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal got 8.6 out of 10. But now these IMDB ratings for both films have fallen drastically. Animal now rates 8 out of 10, and Sam Bahadur falls to 8.3 out of 10.
IMDB ratings were expected to rise higher, but the scenario is completely different. For Sam Bahadur, 835 users have given their votes, while for Animal, the voters’ number is higher—almost 9000. Well, none of the above ratings are going to affect the box office collection directly, but they might affect the mouth publicity of both films.
