Sadashiv Amrapurkar is a widely appreciated name in the Hindi & Marathi Film Industry. The actor made his impactful Bollywood debut as Rama Shetty in Govind Nihalani’s Ardh Satya and won a Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting actor category.

The talented artist is also a big name in the world of theatre-dramatics and has starred in over 300 films which include stellar hits like Sadak, Aankhen, Hum Hain Kamaal Ke, Ishq, Taarzan: The Wonder Car & many more. In a movie career spanning over 40 years, Sadashiv Amrapurkar has garnered immense praises and appreciation from Critics and audiences across the country.

In a flashback interview with Lehren Retro, Sadashiv opened up about his Real & Reel life. The actor revealed that his film related profession has never ever had any influence on his personal life as he transforms himself into a simple Marathi family man after leaving behind the lime-light and aura of the industry on film set post pack-up. Amrapurkar shared that he hasn’t seen much of his films except a few of his favourite ones like Ardh Satya, Hukumat, Sadak & a few others.

The multilingual artist also talked about the interesting story of how the legendary writer Vijay Tendulkar recommended his name to Govind Nihalani for Ardh Satya which in turn marked his power-packed debut. The Coolie No.1 actor also recalled a fascinating incident when a fan of his started imitating his Maharani character from film Sadak at a traffic signal after which he himself got extremely surprised after seeing the craze for the same.

On talking about his fears despite being a mega-villain on screen, Sadashiv Amrapurkar expressed having fear of horses as while shooting a horse-riding sequence for director Anil Sharma’s Hukumat, the actor had a super scary-risky time, when the horse didn’t stop running for 35 minutes constantly and the situation on set got uncontrollable, which in turn impacted the actor’s confidence in a negative way.
