Bollywood icon Salman Khan made headlines when it emerged that unidentified individuals fired gunshots at his residence, Galaxy Apartments, on Sunday. Since then, concerns about the security of the beloved actor, known as Dabangg Khan, have been on the rise among his fans. In response to the incident, authorities have heightened security measures to safeguard the actor.
Several celebrities have been granted X, Y, and Z plus security due to receiving death threats. Here’s a list of those who have been provided security by the government.
Salman Khan
Salman Khan was granted Y+ security by the Maharashtra government following death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Subsequently, additional security was provided by the Maharashtra government after the recent firing incident by the Bishnoi gang.
Shah Rukh Khan
In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) received a death threat, leading to the provision of Y+ security by the Maharashtra government. The actor has been allocated 11 security personnel, who will rotate in their duty, with six personnel accompanied by a police escort vehicle. SRK is responsible for covering the expenses of the security personnel.
Amitabh Bachchan
Earlier, in 2022 Amitabh Bachchan’s security was elevated from Y to X category following death threats received by the star. Prior to this, the 80-year-old actor had been under general security provided by the Mumbai Police.
Kangana Ranaut
In 2020, Kangana Ranaut was granted Y-Plus security by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs following her altercation with MP Sanjay Raut. The actress faced criticism from Shiv Sena and NCP leaders after making remarks regarding the Sushant Singh Rajput case and drawing comparisons between a Maharashtrian city and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar was granted X-category security by the Maharashtra government in response to threats he received. The actor was accompanied by three security personnel who worked in shifts.
