Actress Richa Chadha, riding high on the success of Fukrey 3, recently revealed an unsettling incident from her work life. The talented actress shared an encounter with a fellow actress during a project where the other artist tried to manipulate the script and diminish Richa’s on-screen presence.
In a candid interview with India Today, Richa didn’t mince words as she recounted the experience, stating, “I recently worked with a very insecure actress; she tried to change the script and block out my light. It became obvious to everyone. So, I did ask the Director of Photography (DOP) to step in and intervene to prevent my light from being obstructed because that’s very obvious, tacky, and reminiscent of the ’90s. As far as I’m concerned, that person is blacklisted.”
Richa made it clear that such unprofessional behavior would not be tolerated, not even when she is in a producer’s role. She co-owns a production house with her actor husband, Ali Fazal.
The actress emphasized her commitment to a collaborative and democratic working environment, rooted in her theater background. She firmly believes that filmmaking should be a collective effort and is averse to any form of discord or disruption on sets.
Fukrey 3, in which Richa Chadha plays a significant role, has achieved remarkable success, joining the 100 crore club globally. The film, produced by Excel Entertainment and directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, also stars Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, and Pankaj Tripathi.
Richa’s upcoming project, Heeramandi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, features a stellar cast that includes Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, among others.
