Revealed! Reason Why Anushka Sharma Left Her Production House

Here's why Anushka Sharma quit her own production house 'Clean Slate Filmz'.

Bollywood has many actors and actresses who have their own production house. In the year 2013, actress Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma launched their own production house. The brother-sister duo’s production house name is ‘Clean Slate Filmz’ which produced many films under its banner. Action thriller ‘NH10’ based on honor killing was the first film to be produced under the banner of the production. The film cast Anushka Sharma in the lead role. Anushka played a fierce and independent woman who stands against all odds to take revenge for her husband’s death.

Within a few years, the production house produced many films and web series like Paatal Lok, Bulbul, and Pari. In March 2022, the actress stepped down from her co-owned production house. Talking about the reason behind leaving the production house she said, “My industry is all about, ‘run, run, run-it’s a rat race, and you simply have to be part of it. But I’m more than a rat in a rat race. I want to enjoy my life. I enjoy acting in films, I enjoy being in a room full of creative people, discussing ideas, coming up with ways of doing a scene, and thinking about how the audience will react to it. It’s all so pleasurable; I never want to give it up. That is why I had to make a sacrifice”.

“Production is a 24/7 job, which, of course, I enjoyed thoroughly. I know the vision I have for the company is the same as my brother’s, and I know that vision will be upheld. What we wanted to do is create clutter-breaking, content-forward shows, and movies, and promote new talents- we will continue to do”, she concluded.

Meanwhile, after Anushka’s voluntary exit, the first release from Clean Slate Filmz is the family thriller series ‘Mai’ on Netflix. The series stars Sakshi Tanwar, Wamiqa Gabbi, Vivek Mushran, Raima Sen, and Prashant Narayanan in pivotal roles.
